The "Boiling Pot"

The Mohawk Chief Joseph Brant is credited with giving
the native word "Canajoharie" the English translation,
"the pot that washes itself", after this
geological wonder in the Canajoharie Gorge, close to village center.
It's locally called the "Boiling Pot".

To visit the Boiling Pot, from the Dummy Light,
facing South on Church Street (Route 10),
Take a left onto Montgomery Street, passing under the
Memorial Clock
on the limestone NBT building,
take first right onto Moyer Street, take first right onto Floral Avenue.
There is a parking lot beyond Traudt's greenhouses.
