Webster Wagner's Limestone Gazebo

A protege of Cornelius Vanderbilt on the New York Central Railroad, Webster Wagner invented the Sleeper Car and the Palace Car. Later he became a State Senator.
Wagner built the limestone gazebo for his wife, across from their palatial Victorian house on Route 5 in Palatine Bridge. Ironically, Wagner died in one of his own palace cars in a railroad collision, 1882.
